MAPA SYM: ‘Les Miserables’

This year sees our first Summer Youth Musical at MAPA and we thought go big or go home and with that in mind we are producing the classic, timeless, hit musical, Les Miserables! Les Miserables has been in London’s West End since 1985 years while also playing on Broadway for 16 years! With multiple stage, film and TV adaptions we are very excited to invite children and young people to take centre stage as we bring our own iteration of 'Les Mis' to the Glassbox Theatre this summer!

MAPA SYM is open to children and young people aged 10-18 years old with the sole intention of ensuring our talented cast have the best time making new friends and lifelong memories while putting on a fantastic, high quality production.

Les Mis is being produced by Owen and Jamie at MAPA and directed by our fantastic Rainham Academy Acting teacher, Adam. Adam has been with us for a number of years now and has brought out the very best in all of our students and so we very much look forward to handing the Les Mis reigns to him to help us produce what will be a sensational debut Summer Youth Musical.

SYM will be taking place this summer from Monday 28 July until Sunday 10 August culminating in four shows across Friday 8th, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th August at The Glassbox Theatre, MidKent.

We held auditions for our Principal cast and look forward to welcoming all of our talented children and young people to Waterfront UTC where we will begin rehearsals before we take them to The Glassbox Theatre, MidKent College. We are very much looking forward to giving our young cast the opportunity to perform in four sellout performances with a live orchestra, professional, set, costumes, lighting and sound.

We are sure Les Miserables is going to be hugely rewarding for our young cast and we look forward to welcoming those eligible back next year for SYM 2026!
