Dance, Drama & Singing Classes in Medway for 6–8 Year Olds

Are you searching for dance classes in Medway, drama classes in Kent, or singing lessons for children aged 6–8?

The Infant Academy at Medway Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA) provides inspiring, high-quality performing arts training designed especially for young children who love to move, sing, act and perform.

At this age, children are developing confidence, independence and curiosity. Our Infant Academy gives them a safe, structured space to explore their creativity while learning essential performing arts skills that benefit them for life.

What Makes MAPA Different from Other Performing Arts Schools in Kent?

Unlike many children’s dance or drama schools in Kent, MAPA provides triple-threat training every single week.

Infant Academy students attend a three-hour session:

  • Wednesdays 5:00–8:00pm – MAPA Chatham

  • Saturdays 10:00am–1:00pm – MAPA Rainham

Each week includes:

  • 1 hour of Singing

  • 1 hour of Dance

  • 1 hour of Acting (Drama)

Rather than focusing on just one discipline, we develop well-rounded young performers with confidence across all areas of musical theatre.

The Benefits of Dance Classes for 6–8 Year Olds

Our dance classes in Medway help children:

  • Improve coordination and balance

  • Develop rhythm and musicality

  • Increase flexibility and strength

  • Build self-confidence through movement

Dance training at MAPA isn’t just about routines — it teaches discipline, resilience and teamwork.

The Importance of Drama Classes in Kent for Young Children

Through acting and drama-based exercises,

children:

  • Learn to project their voice clearly

  • Develop storytelling skills

  • Improve memory and concentration

  • Gain confidence speaking in front of others

These skills directly support school learning, particularly in reading, communication and presentations.

Singing Lessons That Build Confidence

Our singing classes help children:

  • Strengthen vocal technique

  • Develop pitch and musical awareness

  • Perform confidently as part of a group

  • Express emotion through song

Singing at a young age builds both musical skill and emotional confidence.

Three Performance Opportunities Every Year

Infant Academy students perform in:

  • Christmas Showcase

  • Summer Showcase

  • Summer Youth Musical

These productions provide real stage experience, professional-standard shows and unforgettable memories — something many performing arts schools in Medway do not offer at this level.
