Welcome to Medway Academy of Performing Arts!

At Medway Academy of Performing Arts we offer weekly Singing, Dancing and Acting classes every Wednesday and Saturday! Stay up-to-date with what's going on in our classes with our newest blogs!

MAPA was started by Owen and Jamie in January 2020 just in time for the global pandemic to close our recently-opened doors. Luckily we survived the pandemic being able to offer online classes to our fantastic students. We believe a hobby in the arts is so important for children and young people as they learn more about themselves, each other, build confidence and work on their social skills and build creative skills that are important for life in an ever-changing 21st century.

In our Main Academy, students take part in hour-long Musical Theatre style classes and students in our Little Academy take part in three 30 minute classes of Singing, Dancing and Acting based around Drama and confidence-building games. In every class students learn skills and content to build up to our two showcases that students perform to parents, carers, friends and family every year.

MAPA takes place every Wednesday at Waterfront UTC, Chatham from 5pm - 8pm and our Saturday classes take place at The Howard School, Rainham from 10am - 1pm. Our class structure at MAPA Rainham differs slightly to the structure at MAPA Chatham; MAPA Rainham has the Little Academy, Infant Academy, Junior Academy, Inter Academy and the Senior Academy; MAPA Chatham, as our newest Academy, only has the Little Academy, Infant Academy and Junior Academy as we welcome our newest members!

At MAPA we offer all new and prospective students a Free Trial before enrolling. We believe that this is the best way for students and parents to trial a session with us to see if students have the fun, creative and memorable time that we are certain they will have. After a student's trial, parents/carers will receive an email summarising how the student got in their classes and with details of how to enrol for the upcoming terms! In contrast to many other performing arts schools in the local area, we bill for our fees monthly rather than termly as we find that this is the bet and most flexible option for all of our parents.
